Now, with this card, you don’t have pay the outstanding balance. Now  this type of credit cards are usually offered for a specified period of time, like 3 to 15 months. And when that time period ends, a higher rate of interest is applied to this type of credit card which could be more than 12% or even higher.

The balances of exiting credit cards can easily be transferred to this type of credit card and in this case you will be paying 0% interest on the transferred balance and thus would be able to clear outstanding balances as quickly as possible.

I also want to let you know that this type of credit card may come with annual fees. And also having this type of card doesn’t mean that you can pay your dues whenever and whichever way you want to. You should be making your payments on time or else you will be paying high overdue fees.

When you apply for this type of card , make sure that you read the terms and agreements of the card. As many cards may come with a default rate wherein a late payment not only incur a late payment fee, but it will also include a default rate that a credit card company will add to the annual percentage rate.

Now, there is another trick that these credit card companies do is when you have paid off  0% APR balance then they employ sky-high APR. What this mean is, the payment you will be paying to the credit card company would be applied toward the transfer and any other purchases that you make will be charged a higher APR.

This is really important that you read the small print of the agreement that you get as sometimes these companies don’t send you the 0 % card that you applied for.  They may send you a different card other than what you have applied for and this new card will have a different offer with different terms and conditions and you may not notice this. So, it is highly advised that you read the terms and conditions on card application for this 0% APR credit cards so that you don’t become the victim of the credit card companies and thus can avoid any future problems with them.
